Print & Graphic Design

Pretty is nice. Pretty that gets people to call, click, and show up is better. We design print, digital, and everything in between, starting with strategy and finishing with a ready-to-ship file.

What We Design

We cover everything from the humble sticker to the large
trade show backdrop.

Examples of Somersault's diverse design capabilities including a corporate pitch deck, a company Impact report, and a full trade show setup.

Ever had a design that looked great and did absolutely nothing?

We’ve seen it: the beautiful brochure that never left the box, the billboard nobody could read at 65 mph, the logo that looked amazing until it was shrunk to the size of a fingernail.

Design without strategy is just decoration. Nice decoration, maybe, but you’re paying for results, not wallpaper.

Attention spans are short, feeds are loud, and your audience can spot a stock-photo handshake from three scrolls away. Your design has about three seconds to earn the next three minutes. We make those seconds count.

What Somersault does really well:

Creating Success

Our Process

Discovery & Strategy

We learn your goals, audience, and brand so we can first design a plan before designing pixels.

Design & Write

Visuals and story developed side-by-side.

Refine & Deliver

You give feedback, we sharpen it. Then deliver print/web-ready, high-quality files in every format you need.

“Somersault delivered outstanding creative materials and brand assets for the launch of my new business. The group was proactive, timely, and much more collaborative than previous digital marketing firms I have worked with. It was never a ‘set it and forget it’ process; instead, it felt like a real partnership focused on bringing my vision to life and striving for results.”

FAQs about Design

If taste is a matter of opinion, good design is a matter of evidence. Here is how you spot the difference without relying on “gut feeling”:

  • The Door Metaphor: A painted door can be beautiful, ugly, modern, or retro (subjective). But if you have to push a handle labeled “PULL” because the design tricked your brain, the door is bad (objective). Good design clearly communicates how to use it without a manual.

  • The GPS Test: Bad design gets you lost while looking pretty. Good design gets you to your destination so smoothly you forget you were even using a map. If a user achieves their goal effortlessly, the design is good—even if the font isn’t your personal favorite.

  • The “Mom Test”: If your target audience can accomplish what they set out to do without calling tech support, crying, or accidentally deleting their account, the design is working.

To tell if design is good, stop asking “Do I like how this looks?” and start asking:

  1. Does it solve the specific problem it was built for?

  2. Can the intended user figure it out without friction?

  3. Does it make life easier, or just make the designer look clever?

Nope. We’ll happily design a single flyer or a full brand overhaul. Because 80% of our clients work on a retainer basis, all the ‘lil nitty gritty design elements are organically included.

We had better!! If you have existing brand guidelines, we can easily get up to speed and match your voice/style.
If you don’t, we can build them. Or, at the very least, ensure we ask you the right questions and do our research to deliver on your vision.

We deliver print-ready files, but don’t do the printing in-house. Clients also often turn to us to handle the full coordination with the printer. This has an added benefit to your bottom-line as we’re often able to get discounts through economies of scale.

Not required. Our writers can handle it, or we’ll collaborate with you to refine what you’ve got.

Depends on the scope and the rounds of edits. A new logo may take a surprisingly long amount of time to nail. But on the flip side, we’ve turned around a 68-page RFP in two weeks.

User Experience design is a core tenant of everything we do that focuses more on the process than the pictures. It entails crafting an intuitive experience for people who refuse to read instructions.

In fact, the best UX design is invisible because there are no pain points or friction. It’s the reason you can order a midnight burrito in three taps while half-asleep, but bad UX is the reason you end up yelling “I JUST WANT TO TALK TO A HUMAN” at a banking chatbot for forty minutes.
